Welcome, traveler. You have found our faire Shire of Loch Cairn in the Current Middle Ages. We are the local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. or SCA for short. The SCA is an organization dedicated to the research and recreation of pre-17th century Europe. The Known world is broken up into 19 kingdoms. We have the honor of serving the Kingdom of Meridies (Latin for Southlands) which keeps the Southeastern United States: the Florida panhandle, Georgia, Tennessee, southwestern Virginia, southwestern Kentucky, and Alabama within her borders.
The members of the SCA study and recreate all of the pleasant aspects of the middles ages from the downfall of the Roman Empire through Elizabeth´s reign in 1600. We are more than just a study group. We strive to keep alive the skills and talents of the times, sometimes reviving "lost" arts. We experience these extraordinary times by attending meetings, classes, and events.
The SCA is a diverse group and open to all ages from the very young to the seasoned warrior. There is truly something for everyone! So, whether you are interested in being a scholar, artisan or a grizzled fighter there is a place for you. The SCA also has a host of children´s activities including Youth Combat and Youth Rapier as well as page school (arts& sciences) making the SCA a great family activity!
We welcome you to attend our local meetings and events. You needn't join the SCA, Inc, to attend and participate.
