Westwood Elementary School Demo
These are a couple of pictures of the Westwood Elementary School demo on May 23, 2007. The kids loved it and had lots of questions
for us. The teachers loved the presentation and asked us back next year!
Henna Painting
The Demo atthe Winchester Dogwood Festival on April 14, 2007 was rained out. We had about 40 wonderful folks come out to help
us although it stormed all day. We hung out at Aislinge & Corwin's house and had a wonderful gathering. We had planned to do henna painting
at the demo (thanks Angarad!) so we decided to have a henna party! Here are some of the pics!
Guinea Pig Party
This is a gathering at Corwin and Aislinge's house known as a guinea pig party. A Guinea pig party is a get together
for testing various recipes, mostly period. The intention is to discuss and rate the recipes to find the best of the best for a
feast. Below are some pictures of a guinea pig party we held on January 14, 2007.
Quern
This is my daughter MirandaRose using a quern. A quern is an ancient hand mill used to grind soft grains
and grasses into flour. Here we are grinding wheat into flour for bread. Randa says it's hard work! November 2006
Leather Bottle Making
We recently had a class in leather bottle making. It was a series of classes consisting of: making a pattern,
cutting out the leather, sewing it, stretching the leather, drying, and finally sealing it. July 2006
